It offers a connection to the source of all life and relationships with like minded people, also seeking something higher than the rote rhythms of mere survival. Nobody's showing up because they're afraid of hell, but the social rejection of being told they're going to hell. On the other hand God's children are working to make people feel welcomed and loved. The Spirit's the manipulator as nobody's really doing anything insincerely.
