>>17262197to be a nerd in the 90s you actually had to back it up with being smart and knowing how to do shit. that meant spending 17 hours combing mesageboards to figure out that to make that cool video game work on your shitbox you had to jump 2 pins together and flash a rom chip with some custom BIOS a russian nerd made just to allow you to install a 3rd party custom driver that allowed some specific version of opengl to run without crashing JUST so you could get to the install menu of the game. then obviously youd have to spend another 8 hours figuring out why the install keeps failing at 92% then you find out its because you have to disable a certain driver that keeps calling upon some random windows installer process logger and you have to go into C:/WINDOWS and rename the existing log file to something else so the installer can have access to create the log file so it can install. then fuck you get it installed but no fucking sound is coming out of the speakers and your quest takes you to a sound card incompatibility issue so youre out of luck you just gotta play without sound but whatever the game is running and FUCK all these vertical lines appeared in rainbow colors on the screen and the computer keeps booting up like this no matter how many times you restart oh fuck oh fuck dads coming home later from work and hes gotta finish some spreadsheet from his work and YOURE FUCKED AHHHHHHHHHH THEY LITERALLY JUST BOUGHT THIS COMPUTER LAST MONTH FOR CHRISTMAS holy shit you are sweating bullets you have 2 hours to figure this shit out and you know mom is going to be pissed as fuck when she gets home soon too because the lines been busy all day since youve been hogging it to search askjeeves for your issues. boot that shit in safe mode and THANK GOD the computers still working but fuck man now you have to undo all those beta drivers you installed but you cant get online to download the old one you need because INTERNET DOESNT WORK IN SAFEMODE THIS IS WINDOWS 95
