when Jesus told people to repent in the new testament, he wasn't telling them to work their way to heaven by repenting of their sins. he was telling them to repent of their unbelief. because you have to repent of your unbelief in order to believe the gospel. mormons have not repented of their unbelief because mormonism is not Christianity.
