It's probably like fashion whereby someone decided grey was the cool colour this year, but it's yet more NPC behaviour following trends. If you genuinely like all grey, fair enough. If you're just copying pictures you saw online rather than being brave enough to pick a colour or wallpaper you like because someone might make fun of it, you're the same type of person who got vaxxed because everyone else was doing it and you should unironically rope.
