The very notion of fashion - that some clothes are no longer good enough because they're "last season" is counter productive and wasteful.
I buy clothes like normal people, but I make sure to buy quality that will last me for years. Instead of simply getting shoes or sneakers like some feral nog, get a good pair of boots custom made from a reputable manufacturer. The fit will be excellent and once they're worn out - just send them in for a re-fitting and they're good as new.
For clothing I buy a lot of military surplus stuff for camping and hiking, because you simply can't match the price for what you're getting.
In day to day life I focus on the basics, like blue jeans, sturdy belts, plain shirts or t-shirts etc.. This allows you to build attires more easily instead of being a slave to a pre-determined outfit that you happened to see on some commercial.
