Most people who identity as Christian do not understand all but the absolute most basic Christian beliefs and do not practice Christianity at all. Its why its easy to find a spot to park at a church when its not Christmas or Easter but rather a normal Sunday. Note, skipping church on Sunday is a direct violation of the Third Commandment and is considered a serious sin. Identification as Christian is just not a useful means to determine the prevalence of Christians anymore. Christianity is essentially a subculture these days.
