I don't want to get deep but isn't the reason why so many students in Western countries are in debt because once past 18yo, most parents are like "get the fuck out of my house"? So they have to take these insane student loans on top of having to pay for rent?
As long as I'm studying (now in uni) and get good grades, my parents don't seem to care I am living at their house.
