the point is that all religions that claim to know something are simply just collections of abstract concepts and tales, which are needed for people to gather and work together, whether they're "true" or not is not relevant, even if you take something that is openly not true, like a game or a movie, you will have fans gather around it, build communities, buildings, clothes, hierarchies, products, when looking at it it's not much different from a religious gathering, the only difference is of course that religions say that their tales are real which has some benefits but also some downsides, it's good for a death cult where you need people to sacrifice themselves in wars and so on but it produces less money, so it's just a matter of picking whether your tales are in war times or peace times, in war times religions are better since they can be designed into death cults, in peace time fiction fandoms are better since you don't require sacrifice and just want to create economic activity
