I remember having to explain to a guy on /x/ why cameras aren't 1:1 mirrors and you could stand in the exact same spot taking pictures of the moon with different lenses. The human eye itself is also a lens, and I think everyone has had that frustrating moment where they pulled out their camera or phone and the image on the viewfinder didn't look exactly like what they were seeing.
