If you own the house you can even kick her ass out, as long as you're not married. If you are, she gets the house and you get the mortgage. Funny how shit works.
My divorce was in California, where everything acquired during the marriage gets split 50/50. Not fair, of course, if one party earned it all, but better than -100/100, plus tip, like in Illinois. Don't get married in California either.
