well that's fine, we're probably all misusing it anyway. witnessed an interesting conversation about narcissism the other day on /tv/. some anon posted stats showing men are more likely to be narcissists than women, then another anon said that sounded like bullshit and the first anon said that the stats were referring to npd in the clinical sense, not the popular usage of the word. i didn't look up what it actually means though cause if we're all using it wrong why bother learning the correct meaning.
