Good old China does it again!
I've been saying for years that if the average American is to continue motoring, then basic econo-box cars with decent build quality, but with low price tags -- like Japanese cars of the 70s and 80s -- will have to be made, or indeed imported.
Well, China has such cars ready to go, for a mere $12,000 new. The U.S. is banning them through tariffs, but auto industry analysts are saying it's not a matter of if but when Chinese cars enter and totally upturn the American market.
See, what did I tell ya? Western elites want to make modern amenities like electricity and automobiles mainly for the elites and deny them to the commoners, at least for the most part.
Meanwhile China, on the other side of the Carbon Line, still believing in the hope of modernity, is innovating ways to grow the middle class and bring in universal prosperity. Now that's good capitalism!
Will China save modern civilization as the decadent, elitist West turns its back on it? Time will tell. But this is a great sign.
