On a serious note the effects are less severe after a while, so it's not a permanent thing, at least, it wasn't for me. What works for the monkey may not work for the donkey. But, in the meantime, did you try patting his head? I'm not shitting you here. Pat his fucking head. Really get your finger up in that scalp. Oh, and choking him slightly or putting pressure on his lungs. Also, if you move your hand low enough on his stomach, you can actually tickle his bladder.
