If we're talking real videogames, Fallout would make everything you do important and exciting, and sure I probably would die quickly but I would get to truly live for at least a little while before that. I'd personally pick New Vegas as I would feel glad to work for any faction that would take me, really. Having comrades who believe in their mission, which isn't predetermined by their ideology but is more informed by the best argument around, is like a dream scenario.
I suppose in terms of the comfort/power fantasy angle I'd go for something more primitive like Tamriel in Skyrim, just do the whole isekai thing (with Aryan Tendencies).
