They recorded all types of mundane things, so why would they never depict this usage, make a record of this usage, or recreate this technology for the thousands of years afterwards? There are plenty of depictions and descriptions of people going to the Nile to get water, why would they never mention getting water from the pumps in the pyramids? And, as an aside, why go through the massive effort of building huge stone pyramids with carvings all over the walls about how this is for a king's burial site if it was actually just a water pump?
