i live in a high tech city, montreal, and its basically already getting there, but the old world aesthetics temper it a lot in a really cool way
i wish i could appreciate cryptography or software or even computer hardware but
i just hate tech people

a lot of the depression and anger i feel day-to-day is borne of anger mostly at myself for having wasted my young life getting into computers and design and stuff instead of something else; doing it these days is just awful and terrible but i literally don't know any better. I can't conceive of other hobbies to undertake or other projects to get started. it's too late to pick up drawing, I can't make or build stuff since I live in an apartment, I can't hoon or otherwise drive since it's so expensive, shooting is prohibitively tedious since I'd have to leave town to go hunting or blasting dunes or w/e,
i can get excited about tech stuff and while i havent done any serious math since college, i wasnt exactly bad at it
but
i fucking hate tech people. i appreciate tech itself but it's a field that doesn't deserve the trash humanity it has in it, and the other people in tech don't deserve such an interesting field to play in
