>>20478278>but did you carefully study the seller of the 2.5 Gulden to make sure they're honest and the coin isn't a modern Chinese piece? We'll see. Pics weren't in best quality, but this is from a professional seller so i hope he'd notice this kind of thing, and i didn't notice any redflag looking at the details, wear feels genuine too. So i'm pretty confident for now, but i'll keep you posted if i have any doubt once i receive them (tho usually this kind of big silber coin you immediately know when they are fake once you handle them even for a second).
Speaking of fakes, i got a refund from the widow who sold me the Morgan : 20 bux! That was half the price of the lot, so the bunch of half dollars + stone mountain and the rest ended up real cheap, and i got to keep the fake for torture purposes.
But that aint the best part : the day after she contacted me to tell me she put more old coins on sale, and i proposed to purchase it from her for 10 bux shipped as soon as she'd list it. Pics were atrocious but my guts told me to go for it and it ended up being a mini-jackpot : bunch of large Pappal States' copper Baiocco from 1730-1830, a few medieval Liards from 1600s, and cherries on top of the cake : a silver half Teston from Charles IX (1560) and a 2 Baiocchi 1798 from the just created "Roman Republic" in the Vatican, a puppet republic created by the french army, right after Napoleon invaded Rome and kidnapped the pope. It was an attempt at taking control of the Holy See but it only lasted for a year, so there isn't much coinage from this very short period of a revolutionary, republican Vatican kek.
Coins are in pretty mediocre shape for most, but desu that's still a banger for 10 bux so i'm happy!
>Nothing amazing on my end, just grabbed these 4 German .800 knife handlesPretty quiet these days, ain't it? Ever since silber jumped to 30+ the good deals really got scarce. I'm seeing much more people than usual following lots of junk silver.
