And though the end result of humanity returning to its more primative state would also be, as a necessity, a return to these values, the suffering caused could never be worth the cost. It's better to instead try and live by them yourself. It seems, too, that the reason people have taken up these traditional values (this's starting to become a buzzword, isn't it?) again is because they see the harm that abandoning them's caused. In the broken families, in all the restless youths, and in the inevitable problems these cause for society.

What it does, as you can see, is mess up how they see relationships of that kind. But not everyone who is one's had that experience, of course.
