it's like a clan. you just get an separate little chat box for it and it shows a short tag next to your name at all times with the full club name when people hover your name
the club names have to be unique (spaces and caps don't count so 'clubname' and 'CLUB NAME' are the same thing), but i managed to get the name of that iconic tweet before some other lame kshitter lol
