Just recently, a friend of mine admitted to having raped a kid. He said he was on a business trip in Irkutsk, Russia in 1997 when he saw an 11 year old girl in a shopping mall with no adult accompanying her, and he dragged her into the toilets and brutally raped her. He was never reported or caught and there would be basically be no way to prove anything now, and he says he had never told anyone before but felt comfortable telling me, but not anyone else. Should this affect our friendship? Should I just let it go and not let it bother me?
