>>21727277I think the idea was that often times, in the first testament the false idols (the pagan) God's were often considered evil. Moloch is a good example, but there was also Baal, the sun God. They don't really talk about other God's as much, but I think Moloch, Baal, Beezlebub, etc, while in Chritianity, theologians rightfully believed these God's were in fact Lucifer/Satan and are often just thought of as other names for him. Thought they were all pagan gods revolving around different belief systems.
So it's pretty startling to thunk but many ancient civilizations show signs of this kind of 'devil worship'
