Talmudic circumcision, its not even biblical that cut that much off. Circumcision was a sign of marriage that Moses and the people would understand regarding the covenant, since its what the ancient egyptians performed before they got married. But God always desired the inward circumcision of the heart, and not the outward appearance of the flesh for God is spirit and the flesh is but a moment, so Christ having drawn us closer to God through the destruction of the flesh and thus curse of the law through the atonement of his blood for the sake of our sins, we anew creatures, and circumcision of the flesh accomplishes nought. And why should it? You can have a circumcised foreskin and offering burnt offerings but if the heart is not there what use is of it? (Isaiah 1:10-25) But what really is it, it's a display of faith, which is hidden from men, but a permanent mark until death unlike a ring which is cast off from the hand. A time when death reigned and the flesh was in bondage, but now profits nothing since we have been made free in the spirit of Christ and are circumcised in our hearts by the holy ghost with the law written therein, for there is now hope and the flesh profits nothing (Deuteronomy 10:16- Circumcise your hearts, therefore, and do not be stiff-necked any longer). Circumcision was a sign of the marriage used by the ancient Egyptians when the Israelites were in bondage there for hundreds of years. It was a school master to teach them, a sign which had its use that applicable to their time.
