What I'd like to see going forward, and I don't know how to do it, would be truly objective standards for what constitutes severity, because the industry's acting in bad faith and has been for a long time and yet they also produce amazing things. I've said for years this current cycle of magical thinking will be replaced with levels of accountability that will diminish us all and create a wave of absolutely desperate amoral entrepreneurs of necessity hoping to escape the crab bucket and climb to the vaisya tier. I don't think anyone really wants to see it, but we get what we deserve, and if we can't stop massaging data for gain, we're going to have to account for every scrap of it all the time.
