>>14012643well no most of the first season is constructing the group. at first honoka, umi, and kotori form the group in an attempt to save the school from closing due to a low enrollment rate. they don't have any music so they try to recruit maki since she's capable of composition, but she declines until later when she and rin find that they really do want to be idols after all while pushing their classmate hanayo to do it because its been her dream since she was a child. nico keeps telling them all to fuck off and disband because they're so shit, but eventually accepts an invitation to join so that she can show them how to improve instead. nozomi is helping them all along but doesn't actually become a member until later because she is best friends with eli who hates the group because she's projecting her own dogshit dancing abilities onto them. i haven't reached the episode where she changes her mind yet, but she'll join as well in the next few episodes and nozomi will come with her
