They train you on the most mundane shit for fucking EVER in a classroom. Then you get to use a simulator. Not a computer game, an actual military grade flight simulator. Then you fly little planes with instructors. Think Cessna's. Then more classroom bullshit and flying practice for a really long time. Then more advanced simulators, more advanced trainer aircraft etc..
You work your way up to the cool shit over the course of your career. They don't just throw you into a multimillion dollar fighter jet. Just look up US military training aircraft.
