In Iceland we have something called þorrablót where we eat traditional Icelandic food.
Most of the food is meat based and are all based on preservation methods like smoking, salting or pickling.
Some of the best examples of þorrablót are dried fish, hanged meat, pickled sheep balls, "svið" or the head of a sheep and my favorite "hákarl" or fermented shark which has been dubbed by many the worst food they've ever tasted
