Sam can talk as much shit as he wants about the cast being fans, but Letty, Vance, Josie, Sylvia and Damiel knew who Sam and MDE were, and not even they could fill five fucking days of zero interaction from the production crew with content.
Sam and Jet did an absolutely shit job this season and just try deflecting blame away from themselves even though they were being carried the whole way. When a guy like Alex Stein comes in and immediately has to start devising things for your cast to do because you have nothing, there is something dramatically wrong. That isn't even accounting for Fatty basically carrying a section of the show with his Chris Points stuff.
