That's a funny way to say absconding over the border to escape the country undetected because you know about the warrant.
My brother and cousin are both police officers in India and this is how it actually went down according to the case file.
1. Sam Pepper arrived on scene and encountered a group of families celebrating Diwali with a fireworks show.
2. Sam approaches the group to engage in conversation and they welcome him to watch the show. After they watch for a few minutes, they ask Sam if he would like to join in the final demonstration of the night. He agrees.
3. Sam is directed to hold one of the fireworks and after a certain signal to light it and hold it up at a 75 degree angle into the air.
3. Sam and the other revellers taking part in the demonstration move to their designated places for the show.
4. The show begins. Rather than waiting for his cue, Sam immediately lights his firework and points it at the nearest group of children. The firework rapidly fires a continuous barrage of 4-5 flares a second for about 10 seconds, engulfing the children in a barrage of fire and smoke
5. Sam explodes a little girls eyeball with a direct headshot and there is rumor another child lost a thumb too.
6. Sam is informed he has permanently disfigured a young child
