Atheists aren't [the vast vast majority anyway] patriotic, objective or hold themselves to anything higher than themselves, they follow money and self-gratification, promotions etc. (hence we have the problems we now have). There is no reason why they wouldn't join on the lower levels or lie and most likely they change later as they move up.
Pic: since atheists recently became more prevalent in academia, we now in the west for the first time ever have a replication crisis. This means you have these atheist "truth seekers" (or so they claim i.e. lie that they are) who are lying and fudging their data/findings, this can be for multiple reasons, grants, political correctness, not intellectual honestly, promotion, dinner invites etc. the list can go on. The vast majority of atheists don't give a cr*p about "principles". Why wouldn't they join a lodge if there was some selfish advantage to them in doing so.
