There is also an interesting castle nearby, Predjama castle, which was built at an entrance of a cave, and through which the guy living in it used to smuggle supplies when it was besieged. They finally got him by shooting him while he was on the toilet (circled on pic) because some servant ratted on him, signaling when he was there by shining a light.
