>>20881570again you show 0 knowledge of what capitalism is or how to debate it. you're using empirical data (coming from god knows where) instead of rational arguments, to prove something that wouldn't even make your point.
first, capitalism does not rely on infinite resources.
even if we reached a stage of maximum productivity, changing consumer demands would still make capitalism the only viable choice for allocating factors of production.
second, as long as there is changing consumer demand (which we assume there is because of course there is.) profits must exist. it is simple as that.
the economy isn't static, we don't produce the same goods today that we produced 10 years ago or that we'll produce in 10 years. so long as this change exist, there must be profit. simple as that.
third, capitalism is the most efficient system for resource use that we currently have. state planning is inherently inferior because of the economic calculation problem which is bound to exist in a state planned economy where there exist no prices for factors of production.
in fact, the soviet union was orders of magnitudes more inefficient, wasteful and polluting than partially capitalist countries such as the U.S.

now if you'll excuse me, I'll go out, enjoying my bourgeois privileges, since I've finally found out how to turn on the lights in the pool in my holiday house.
