WHGs were believed to be of a fairly swarthy/tanned complexion (and had the gene for blonde hair), while ANEs had lighter skin and eyes. Their admixture still rings true in Scandinavians and some other Germanics in their abilities to tan really well.
Turkic and African admixture throughout the middle-east muddied up the European genetics, and sadly had some effect on Greek and Italian populations and a massive effect on Anatolia.
