However, such degeneracy was organic and not a result of politics. It was hedonistic or an escape. Or it was a part of the social experience and music. It wasn't political at all. I don't recall any politics in the music I listened to -- except for some punk. Punk has always been a bit more political, though. Look at this Casey Jones album cover. It includes the Confederate flag. This shows that political correctness and leftism hadn't yet established itself in alternative music scenes. No one care, and this was very typical of hardcore bands from the South.
