What can be done with this? Not much, but it demonstrates the perpetual imbalance of the markets in general. It is a large enough problem that there is no danger of the problems abating before the countermeasures pay off. Inflation and money printing are unstoppable, and the cure would involve lots of human casualties, and no one really has the stomach for that, humor and hyperboly aside. So the problems will continue.
So you may as well adjust to the chaotic nature of the stripmining of the economy to buy welfare.
