As for being a good Christian, you will have to believe in God and especially Jesus. When Christians talk about angels and demons existing in a parallel invisible reality they sound might sound unhinged but by every serious account these places exist and entities reside there. Mortal men can only glimpse these places or touch them fleetingly. With training and knowledge one can gain more coherent pictures but this practice is lost thanks to mainstream science, and ironically the Church.
