>>16468202>really can't focushm, makes me wonder how much of it is genetic and how much is environmental, there've been tons of interesting studies done on fixed- vs growth-mindsets, i'm sure you've heard of the idea before but maybe you haven't heard of the studies, in one they gave kids a short iq test then either praised them for their intelligence or their effort, the control group was just praised for the result and nothing in particular. after the first iq test they were offered another one that would be more challenging, not only did the "smart" group decline the challenge, but both their confidence and performance on later challenging questions crashed and they said the harder questions were the least fun, while the effort group had dramatically higher confidence and performance and reported having the most fun with the challenging questions.

i do think there's some validity to iq tests, i don't think people can become infinitely smarter if they just worked hard but i also dont think iq tests are the immutable word of god, not enough people believe in a growth mindset and even the ones who do rarely put in enough effort to go anywhere near their full potential
>136i think 136 is top 3% or something but i don't think that score is legit since i read how to solve the hardest ones after i got my initial score of 125, i think 125 was top 10%, either way it's just the online one and even if it was 100% accurate i wouldn't care because the score alone isn't actually useful, pretty sure iq is a shit indicator for both success and happiness in life, it's usually good to have a high iq but it's not everything, i look it at it like your peripherals, it's nice to have a good mouse but you can still be good with a shit mouse and still be shit with a good mouse, the mouse isn't everything like iq isn't everything, clim
