Maria silently walked into the Night Villa, leaving the quarelling guests behind, something heavy weighing down on her heart. Her steps slow as she chewed on the inside of her lip. Eventually she made her way to the study, where an unlit fireplace sat.
Standing in front of it she looked at the charcoal and ash clinging to the bottom, a few half burned logs. With a deep sigh Maria approached the fireplace, one hand clenched into a fist, the other one holding an unsent letter.
>I'm...sorry, Claire, Skelly. I'm sorry that you never got to read this letter. But I'm sure that you would have loved the information that's inside.
Holding back most of her tears Maria laid the letter down on the mantlepiece before drying her eyes. A weight falling off her shoulders as another sigh escapes her lips.
But, Maria wasn't there to pull down the mood, so with somewhat red eyes and a fake smile on her face, Maria headed back to the party.
