At no point does the creeping barrage require arty to be moved from the original battery. Any forces that would advance would already be dialed in for firing.
Armored corps would be rolling head first into their own demise. The forward observation positions would spot the armored corps first and make them easy pickings for artillery.
So to give you the breakdown you decided to push tanks into the barrage area, think you have the route watching forces fall back a few hundred yards and get your entire tank corps blown apart by artillery THAT WAS ALREADY DIALED IN.
