yeah it's definitely silly. asian countries are pretty well known for totally ignoring any international considerations though. seems very likely to me that they made the decision on the domestic level and it ended up effecting everyone because the intern who had to actually do the pulling down of songs checked a box to make it apply for all regions and nobody in the company has thought twice about it since
