>>16505400Thanks for the info. I'm on the verge of Christianity and trying to find out the truth so I ask different people their thoughts. There's something else I meant to ask you. You know how Abraham was told to do something horrible (kill his own son) ? Something contrary to his conscience ? Don't you think the teachings on hell are similar ? God gave these teachings (through the church, from a catholic perspective) and asks us to believe in them because otherwise people wouldn't be afraid and follow the rules, and also as a test ? God can do anything, and does in fact "change His mind" throughout the Bible, ie tells us something when in fact He has something else planned/knows something else will happen. I cannot reconcile the idea that God who is pure love, who loves us more than we would love our own children, sends some 99+% of said children (whom he has created) not to burn for 10 minutes or a year, nor 100 years, but rather eternity. I simply cannot believe this and in the bottom of my heart hold that God can always change his mind and cut the suffering of everyone, rewarding some more, others less, of course. Imagine living knowing all your family members you love will soon be tortured by some man in horrible ways and die, and that this happens for sure at an unspecified time. It would be impossible to live with such thoughts, and this isn't even remotely comparable to the terrible fate people will suffer according to Christianity. It's too hard on the psyche to believe that if you really picture it. I wouldn't be able to go through my day. Do you have any thoughts on that ?
