There were other things too, for example you could search for a certain set of numbers on youtube and sooner or later you'd end up finding actual cheese pizza. Youtube removed them as soon as the public found out about them, but I doubt that they didn't know what was hosted on their own platform, especially since there were lots and lots of such videos and they had quite the number of views as well.
Nowadays they really started cracking down on "offensive" content. The internet will become worryingly sterile in the next few years.

So the prices were inflated by such people and the art critics suddenly decided that they must have been masterpieces all along, or maybe they were paid off. I don't hate modern art, I find Picasso's works interesting for example, but there is a huge difference between Picasso and drawing two lines on a canvas.
