Much like faggots who want a zombie apocalypse to happen because they think their miserable life will be different if they have a reset button, these people think that after years of never having any form of investment (social or monetary) in their community like a business, high profile career, wife, kids, etc., that it'll all change if they just join a colony.
tl;dr these things attract literally the bottom barrel scum of all people.
