yeah, where i talk to a professor about the courses i plan on taking for next semester and they let me know if my plans are dumb.
i was annoyed because if i didn't have a better understanding of my own situation my advisor would've talked me into taking a course that doesn't help me progress my degree at all so it's just wasted money and that seems like exactly the kind of thing advisors would be meant to catch
