outside of school? not really, i just type everything instead because it's infinitely easier, same as with english. for school we have workbook pages and the like that i'm required to write by hand and even then they only require a handful of the words you write to be kanji.
i'm a big fucking nerd and think the language both looks disgusting and is borderline unreadable when everything is in kana so i usually go out of my way to write in kanji anyway but it's both a huge hassle and totally unnecessary as far as effecting my grades now or my daily life down the line
