I mean i work with lipid nanoparticles and mRNA (not in humans but in C. elegans, a microscopic nematode used in ageing research), and all i do is mix mRNA solution with a lipid solution, forming mRNA containing lipid nanoparticles. And since both the cell membranes and the LNPs are made of lipids which have hydrophobic chains, they just fuse as is, resulting in mRNA entering the cell. So i have never used anything to "cut" the cell membrane, especially since that is selfe assembling and would close up imediately. But if that is a thing, i sure would be interested. Can you give me the doi of a paper where this method is described in detail in the materials and methods section?
