>>19006920not yet Canada, it's not happy hour yet

here it's pretty simple: 8 years grade school (basic education, mandatory)
4 years of "highscool" (we call it middleschool, it's either 4 years gymnasium which makes it easier to enlist university or 3-5 years trade school, for most trade schools you have to work 1 year of internship which is paid 75% of standard starting pay, if you had to work internship you have to take the State exam following that- medical technicians are exempt as they "do their internship" on their 5th year but they aren't paid squat)
you can still work retail and mcdonalds after gymnasium, but nothing that makes serious buck
some unis here have bacc. degree after 3 years (+2 for masters) but a lot of unis just have masters degree after 5 years
the moment you get your diploma you can get a job
we also have various courses you can pay for which is basically like a bunch of seminars after which you write a test, do a project and bam wham you got yourself a licence for whatever (web design for instance)
I'd like to get one of those licences for mushrooms so I can a) identify edible and choice mushrooms and b) be able to sell the mushrooms
oh, and after university you can opt out for additional specialisation (usually offered again by universities) but you can do that while you are already employed and get full paycheck
