They would've been happy to stay in the US and work but our pozzed fucking immigration system is basically built so that illegal brown people with anchor babies stay and work for below minimum wage but any white folks capable of contributing to society have to jump over 9000 hurdles to stay legally.
I've got Russian and Hunagarian friends as well and basically the game is go to school until you can't anymore and work your ass off for less than you're worth hoping someone will put the work in to do the paperwork to keep you... Which they won't.
Germany as a country is pozzed too but there are some good people over there and the Germanic roots of Northern Europe are comfy af.
