They treat suppliers and farmers like trash here in Australia. I too don't need to stress about costs but getting a leg up, albeit very small gives me a sense of satisfaction. If you buy produce, just put it under a far cheaper fruit or vegetable and no one's the wiser. Like you mentioned with your bougie appples, you won't get caught by some wagie that couldn't care less.
