>>11413380wouldn't want to miss my opportunity to be the third person to say "the book is expensive" because i had to pee
that does sound unbelievably painful. i've slowly started to get more annoyed by how easily flustered my professor is when stuff goes off course. it's certainly endearing but sometimes ends up eating up a lot of time or getting a bit awkward for nothing
for example today we learned that you can add ね to the end of sentences and it basically shows some uncertainty or invites the listener to either confirm or deny. usually it's translated as just tacking on ", right?"
a bit later in the class someone's asked to translate a sentence and the expected answer is "your major is english, right?" but instead the person says "isn't your major english?" then queue the professor going
>oh.. well it's supposed to be more like.. actually i suppose that's fine.. but what it usually.. no yeah it's fine but "correct".. well not really correct but the way the book would put it is "your major is english, right?" though the way you said it is fine.. yeah you can translate it the way you did as well and that's perfectly finelike jesus man cool down, there are no stakes here

unexpected especially since i went to be relatively early
>>11413436they basically just taught ね as ", right?" and よ as i'm telling u
