I think disciplining a child is ok when they deserve it. When a child is crying or throwing a tantrum about wanting to get something from say a store, it's fine to yell or shout maybe even smack their bottom if it's that bad. In your house, you are the parent and your child doesn't just get to fuck around and break shit and hurt siblings or pets so if they are doing this shit and being just a ridiculous asshole, then it's fine to smack them or hit them with something if it will stop their tantrum. Kids nowadays are being babied by their parents and without proper discipline, they will become uptight, self-righteous, stuck-up assholes to everyone because they think they can do anything and get anything they want without repercussions.
